South Omaha Business Improvement District

SOUTH OMAHA BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

SOUTH OMAHA BID

Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) are public and private partnerships to revitalize commercial areas in US cities. The city council remains responsible for public spaces, while the owners remain in charge of their own buildings, however the BID provides collaborative tools to facilitate projects that are supplemental to the services provided by the city.

The South Omaha BID was approved in April of this year, and its territory primarily encompasses the South 24th Street commercial corridor, from L to Q streets. The BID's board of directors is headed by attorney Ross Pesek and consists of five professionals from the district. Board members are appointed and approved by the Mayor of the City of Omaha and must live or work within the district.

The South Omaha BID is focusing on the following supplemental projects: cleaning and garbage collection, maintenance of the 64 public planters along the corridor, and the future installation of signage and implementation of a commercial directory for the district. If you are a neighbor of the district, or work in the commercial corridor, come forward to participate in decision-making. Together we can achieve more!
